How do I use WalletConnect with Torus?
WalletConnect is a convenient open source tool that enables a mobile wallet to easily connect to decentralized web applications, and interact with them from your phone. It is a more secure way to use Dapps.
Open a web Dapp : Open your browser(preferrably on your DESKTOP) and go to the website of the application that you want to use
You can see the full list of web Dapps supported on WalletConnect https://walletconnect.com/registry/apps
Connect with WalletConnect : On most of web Dapps you will find a Connect to a wallet button, with WalletConnect as an option. Select it.
Get the QR code: The website will show you a QR code Click Copy to Clipboard icon as highlighted below:
Now, open a seperate tab on your same browser , go to https://app.tor.us , and login with the correct account.
Ensure you choose your preferred network by going to Settings>Network , then click the Use WalletConnect button as shown below:
Now, paste the copied QR code from Step.3 into the field as shown below:
Click Connect button and you will see a status that says Successfully Connected
Now, return to the first tab for the Dapp or click the link which says Take me to.. in the screenshot of Step.6 and you will be logged in with your Torus Wallet account.
Alternatively, you can also scan the QR code from WalletConnect using your mobile device
Open https://app.tor.us on a mobile browser and login with the correct account
On the home page, click on the Use WalletConnect button as seen below:
Scan the QR code presented in Step.3 and your Torus Wallet will be connected.
Some Dapps will require that you confirm transactions in your wallet, in such a case a request with the transaction detail will appear on the screen as a pop-up and you will be able to approve or reject it.
For the QR code to appear, your device should support a camera and enable it on whichever browser you are using . You can review the below settings for Google Chrome:
Open Chrome.
At the top right, click ⋮ > Settings
Click Privacy and security > Site settings and then Camera
Select the option Sites can ask to use your camera
On your Android device, open Chrome.
To the right of the address bar, tap ⋮ > Settings
Tap Site Settings
Tap Camera and enable the toggle for Camera(Ask first...)
Open Settings
Choose Chrome.
Tap the button next to Camera
